The Activity Director is responsible for developing, implementation and supervising a full scope of services in the adult day care center to stimulate customers to have fuller and richer lives. The Recreation Director is a member of the interdisciplinary and management team of the caring center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ÿ Developing and implementing the therapeutic activity program for each participant;
Ÿ Supervising the program aides who assist with therapeutic activities;
Ÿ Planning and scheduling activities and events;
Ÿ Posting in a conspicuous place a monthly calendar of activities and events;
Ÿ Contributing to each participant’s comprehensive assessment and plan of care;
Ÿ Writing a therapeutic activity note at least one time every 90 days or more often as necessary in each participant’s health record that documents the participant’s therapeutic activity needs, participation in, reaction to, and current preference for activities; and
Ÿ Assisting as necessary with other services.
Qualifications:
Ÿ High School Diploma required
Ÿ Have one or more years’ therapeutic activity experience working with adults in a health-care or social-service setting.
Ÿ Be qualified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid.
Ÿ Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
Ÿ Be able to lift 50 pounds.
